SALT LAKE CITY AREA SKIING
Park
City Mountain
Began 135 years ago when Army soldiers discovered rich silver veins
in the mountain above what would become Park City. Since that time,
Park City has been home to a colorful cast of characters, set among
silver mines, saloons and eventually ski lifts.
Snowbird
Ski and Summer Resort
Snowbird and Alta have been named the No. 1 ski resort in the United
States by SKIING Magazine for three years running. Snowbird offers
882 lodging rooms between four lodging properties, a
luxurious spa, a plethora of dining options, four-season activities
and a staff dedicated to meeting your every need.
Alta
rich history and a dedication to the pureness of the skiing experience
verify the claims. Alta is a skiers' mountain. Snowboarding is not
allowed. A "skiing emphasis" attempts to match the number
of skiers with available facilities and terrain.
Solitude
The Sunrise lifts, just steps from our village, operates four days
a week. The ride offers unparalleled views of the Wasatch Range
and the upper reaches of the magnificent Big Cottonwood Canyon.
The lift rises nearly 1,000' from our village and the standard ride
is about 12 minutes.
Deer
Valley
Celebrating their 25th Anniversary of operation this winter season,
Deer Valley Resort is honored with being named the #1 ski resort
in North America by the readers of SKI magazine.
Brighton
It began in 1936 when members of the Alpine Ski Club (later re-named
The Wasatch Mountain Club) designed and built a `skier tow' out
of 1/2 inch wire rope and an old elevator drum. Brighton became
the first serviced ski area in the state of Utah, among only a few
in the country.
